Soap Notes

I have been on a soap making frenzy. It started at the end of March. Since then I have made 8 new batches of soap, most new recipes.

I have been playing around with new oils and other ingredients. I have also been looking into using more organic and fair trade ingredients.

So what do I have on my curing table right now?

I have made

Extra Moisturizing Lemongrass & Eucalyptus

Organic Hemp with my Dragon Heart essential oil blend

Organic Hemp Ever Green Love

100% Castile soap only olive oil

Cinnamon & Organic Shea Butter

Extra Moisturizing Nutmeg & Sweet Orange with Organic Shea Butter

Milk Chocolate & Cocoa Butter

The Milk Chocolate is very new to me it is the first time making a milk soap and the first time using chocolate in a soap recipe. I can't wait to try them all out! Curing time is always the hardest part of making cold process soap for me.

New Soap

I made a  few new batches yesterday. But they still need to sit for 4-6 weeks to cure fully.

Picture-Me all safety geared up.

1) hemp and olive oil with my own blend of essential oils called dragon heart.
2) has a blend of super moisturizing oils and scented with lavender & Rosemary essential oil. Great bars for hair! (not pictured)
3) the average bar of soap scented with cedarwood & juniper and smells like the deep ever green woods here in Maine.
4) another hemp and olive oil blend but with Shea butter to. Skin loves Shea butter. Scented with lime and lemongrass. Yum!

My Studio

I have been busy with clearing out the basement to our house so I can make it my studio. It will be great to have a place for everything. I can not stress how important it is to have a good place for creativity. I will think up something I want to make and after searching for the things I need for it I lose my creative spark and sometimes I just give up because I can not find the things I need. So far I have my light box set up and an a area for craft painting(for my boxes and things like that. Slowly I will reclaim my house from my own creative needs.

Chainmaille collar

One of my newest creations. This necklace is made using European 4 in 1 and has a red celestial crystal. I have to say it is my most recent favorite.
