How did you name your business?
I know right away I wanted my business to be my first and middle name simply because it would be an easy brand to create. Since I sew a variety of products I didn't want to limit myself. This way Julie Marie encompasses all areas. Then the "shop" part came about because it was truly the only thing available on etsy, so it just sprouted to life from there.

How long have you been doing your art/craft for?
I am a self taught sewist for over 7 years now, but I have been artsy and crafty since a very young age.
What inspires and influences your work?
My work is inspired by the wonderful fabrics and colors I choose. Also, I am a huge fan of Amy Butler and I love everything pure and organic.

What do you do when your not creating?
When I am not creating I am busy taking care of my two children; Lily age 6 and Smith age 3 and trying to spend as much time with my loving and very supportive husband. He is my other half and I couldn't do any of this without him. I also enjoy going for walks, visting antique and thrift stores, and traveling.

Why did you create this piece(s)?
I created this clutch because I wanted an easy durable clutch that was super cute and fun, and really who doesn't love pleats on a purse.
What do you feel is special about your art/craft?
I think what makes my art special is the beautiful fabrics. I choose fabrics I fall in love with and hope others share my passion. I also, put tons of care into each piece and make sure everything is up to par.

Are there other forms of art and crafts you would like to learn? And why?
I love everything crafty. I enjoy making cards, scrapbooking, jewelry making, and painting. I would love to try creating skin care or candle making because of my love of herbs and organic products. I also would love to take a creative writing class so I could some day create a novel. Let's just say I always have ideas flowing through my head and love trying everything pertaining to arts and crafts.
