Dark Fantasy Gothic Art Print "Dark Birds"

This is a limited edition, high-quality digital print based on my original watercolor painting featuring a silver-haired girl and her birds. 

Actual size of art is 7 7/8 x 10 3/8 inches, which is centered on 8.5x11 inch paper. This print does not include a mat but has a white-edged border to accommodate a custom cut mat. 

Editions are limited to 100 prints. Each print will be signed and numbered by me, the artist. Signature and edition number will appear on the front of the print in either the lower left or right corner.

This is an archival quality print with crisp details and beautiful, vivid colors. Printed on Kodak paper with a matte finish to ensure little or no glare.

Please note that the copyright watermark will not appear on the actual print. All prints are sealed in a clear photo bag with sturdy backboard and will be shipped flat.

MODERN CROW - Sounds like a species, doesn't it? Well, it is now. This guy has been made contemporary with an enhancement I did to my original drawing. As you can see I offer the crow in another shade in addition to the red. If you would like the brown, as opposed to the red, please convo me.

This abstract is simple yet detailed with interesting moving and flowing shapes and patterns that my imagination organized!

My original designs now appear in many every day objects making the usual unusual!

Product Spotlight- Crows in Chrome Trinket Box

I decorate these pre-made boxes with images from my

photography and other things. I also hand stamp them
as well. This one is painted black and decoupaged
 with a crow photo I took and played with a bit
digitally. Crows are one of my favorite birds (in case
 you did not know) and I often photograph them.
 The day I took this picture It was a cold day late into
fall. We where driving in Portland and there was this
 huge murder of crows flying from tree to tree. I was
 watching them but really did not want to jump out
 on the side of the road in the cold. But when my
hubby suggested it, it gave me the push I needed to
 do it. I sure am glad he asked me because it is one

What to do with your favorite images..... Decoupage!

Because I apparently will never have enough hobbies or ways to show my favorite photos and other art images I have started  painting and decoupaging  my photography images on trinket boxes. Decoupage is so simple and gives you wonderful and quick results. I have done 3 boxes so far. One as a custom order for a friend, one for myself with a Nightmare before Christmas image(not drawn by me but used with permission for personal use, never steal other peoples art and photography!) and the one I will show you today has one of my photos on it that has been manipulated with coral paint shop pro my editing software of choice. Decoupage is as easy as finding images you like and applying them to wood, glass, metal and other surfaces. Most likely you have everything you need in your home to do it. I like Mod Podge for the adhesive and sealer(it is what I use for collage and altered art), but I just picked up some Fast Finish Decoupage by Beacon which is suppose to dry faster and not be tacky so I will see how it works. On the Trinket box in the photo I used a photo safe acrylic sealer and not Mod Podge(Mod Podge is photo safe too) because I wanted a glossier finish and I only had matte Mod Podge in the house.

If you want to try Decoupage find some images you like. They can be from your own photos or images, cut outs from magazines, postcard or card, images from online. Always follow copyrights laws. As far as I know you can use most images for personal use as long as you do not take credit for the photo or artwork. But do not quote me on it as I am not copyright expert. 

Find and item to Decoupage there is no limit here. It could be a plate, box, terra cotta, paper mache frames, vase, wood, metal, desk, table anything. The only thing to keep in mind is not all adhesives are good for all surfaces and materials. 

I suggest pre arranging your cut out/s how you want them first then apply with your Fast Finish , Mod Podge or another adhesive, even white school glue should give good results. After all your cut outs are bonded in place allow to dry completely and apply sealer(Mod Podge, Fast Finish or one of your choice) according to the direction on the bottle. I prefer to do multiple coats of sealer allowing it dry completely between coats.

This is a simple Trinket Box using only one image. This one will be for sale in my shops soon, along with others featuring my photography and images.

Crows

I have to admit it has been a while since I have gone out with my camera. Life with 3 young active girls gives me more then enough opportunities for shooting but offers very little time to capture anything other then them. But the other morning I step out my door at 6 in the morning to walk my dog and heard a sound I love to hear, a murder of crows all cawing while doing their early morning business. Crows and ravens are my favorite birds I have taken tons of photographs of crows. The want to photograph them was strong and I did grab my camera. There just was not enough light yet. I wish they would have hung around another half hour because I know I could have gotten some great shots. It has made me realize that I do not bring my camera out with me much anymore. Not so long ago I always had it with me. I will get back in the habit of bringing it every where again. But until I have some new shots to show off I will share a few of my favorite crows
