DIY From The Kitchen Sugar Scrub

From the Kitchen Sugar Scrub

This easy recipe is made from ingredients that most people have right in their cupboard. Exfoliate your skin and moisturize at the same time. The brown sugar will exfoliate. Olive oil is a great moisturizer. Honey adds more moisture as well as its natural.

Now From the Kitchen Sugar Scrub:

  • 2 cups brown sugar (lightly packed)
  • 1/2 cup olive oil (or your choice of a vegetable oil, I also like to use hemp seed oil)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • Optional, your favorite all natural scent, extract or essential oil I used vanilla extract for this batch.

Mix all ingredients in a medium mixing bowl

Place mixture into an airtight container. And WOOHOO! You just made your own sugar scrub from ingredients already in your kitchen!

This scrub stores great in a cool dark place and does not need to be refrigerated in the time it will take to use the amount this recipe yields. If you make a big batch you would want the store it in the refrigerator. Seperation is natural just stir it before use and your all set.

Home made scrubs make nice gifts too. Place it in a nice looking container and add a ribbon and you have a great handmade gift!

Slowly but surely.

My down stairs studio is is coming along. Half the work bench is painted, most of my  stuff has been moved down and I think I have most go my storage ideas complete. There is a lot to go still but it feels good to be putting together my own space. Being able to keep my stuff out and accessible will be great. It is tiresome having to pull out everything to start a project. Then having to pack it all back up to put in the closet until I have time to do it all overt again. Now once I'm all set up I will be able to just go into the studio work on see at my machine or cut jump rings or what ever with no problem. I am very excited to get it finished.
